While the cafe has been closed, Alana and I have been doing a little road trip around the South Island. While some of the places I would have liked to go for coffee were closed, the coffee report in general is "pretty good."
We've not found any coffees that have really blown us away, but even in out-of-the-way places we've not had any really bad coffee either - which I think is pretty impressive.
Probably the best coffee (and also the best breakfast I think), would have been at Bespoke Kitchen in Queenstown on our last morning.

We've had several requests for the recipe for our fabulous strawberry and asparagus salad - so here it is, a great summer salad, perfect for Christmas lunch or something you can quickly throw together at the bach.

Salad (use the ingredients in any proportion you like)

It's summer time, and that means it's beer and cider time!
